This company has done DNA minipulation of silkworms  to become the "inventor" of commercial quantitys of spider silk. They are just about to unveil their first product for sale. They are headed to become a major textile manufacture because they have silkworms that can be enhanced to spin silk with many custom properties.

When Spidersilk hits the market regular silk and many other fibers like kevlar and carbon fiber will become obsolete
